The strategy of fulfilling the mission of Joni and Friends, the disability ministry of Joni Eareckson Tada, is primarily based upon Area Ministries mobilizing and equipping local volunteers to reach out to those affected by disability according to Christ's mandate in Luke 14:15-24.

Our primary outreach services include:

• Equipping Christ honoring churches with training and support for a variety of programs, curriculum, and special projects to minister to individuals and families affected by disability
• Sharing the Gospel with people affected by disability in Ohio and surrounding states, El Salvador and around the world.
• Mobilizing volunteer Friends and churches to participate in exciting and rewarding ministries such as Family Retreats, Through the Roof church outreach, Wheels for the World, and Special Delivery (ministry to the institutionalized and homebound)
• Providing resource referrals and assistance to individuals and families affected by disability
• Local programs including support groups, disability ministry workshops, fun and fellowship and more

• An Area Ministry office in Xenia, OH (located on the Legacy Center Campus)
• Includes extension offices in Northeastern Ohio and Columbus
• Made possible by local donors, churches, and volunteers
• Are directed by a local development board and a staff Area Director, under the auspices of the international office located in Agoura Hills, California.
